Margarito

"What is the biggest struggle you have gone through?"
"Staying off the streets and in school."
"Why?"
"Because I come from a place where education is taken as a joke...."

  1. It is sad to say that many people feel like they come from a place where they can't do good in school because "its not cool". This is something that everyone should ignore because no matter what, all that matters is that you're happy and that you have a good day. At the end of the day, your friends won't pay your bills so what they think shouldn't matter.

  2. Aww, hopefully his friends are there for him to push him and help him get through it. Even his family? There's always a way to get through things..

  3. Deep. It's hard to answer this type of questions. It's even harder when you don't have good memories about your past.

  4. This is deep. Sometimes education is taken as a joke when it shouldn't. Education will take you somewhere and always ignore the bad comments, keep your head up!

  5. This is something that I really can't relate to but I get what you're saying. I've known lots of people who would struggle going to school and staying off the streets because that's not something there parents cared about them doing. But they did it and
i find it amazing that you can do that, even when it's hard.

  6. This is really personal. Being a teen can be hard sometimes, because of others. Never should the influence of anyone or any place prevent you from doing something.

  7. I agree with Juan R. on this because truly Margarito's answer shock me like no others. I don't know what it is like living in the street or why you turn to the street in the first place. From what I read, I can only say that the first thing that comes to mind are drugs, being in the wrong crowd, or if you have no other choice because that is the only way for you to survive. I think that the street is dangerous and full of hopeless tomorrows but to other, it might be their home and the only place where they can be. However, someone like Margarito, it's hard to imagine what he really think about being in the street although it seems that his life is good right now judging from what he responded to the questions. To think that you can remember your past as something good to open to the world, that is a wonderful way to live life because you don't care what other sees you as. Being able to be yourself and not ashamed of how people think about where you are from is a positive light towards the future.

  8. It's really hard staying off the streets and having a good education, because there will always be mistakes that don't let us achieve these goals. We as teens have to struggle with peer pressure and people who don't believe in us, and some of us give up easily. It's really nice knowing that some people still fight to do good for the benefit of their own.

  9. I can relate to Margarito. I have a younger brother who practically dropped out of school to be in the streets. The biggest struggle for me is to keep my brother off the streets but it's hard when he has others who influence him the wrong way. Till this day my brother has always thought education was a joke. It's hard as an older sister to be a "good role model" to someone who could care less about how you try to influence them.
