"I've been here since freshmen year and my Veritas experience has so far been descent. It's more different than than my expectations of what it was going to be like for a typical high school experience, but I am grateful for my friends and the education I am receiving."

  1. I agree with you because Veritas is a small school and other high schools are much bigger and have different experiences. Going to a small school is good because here in Veritas they really focused on each student. If it was a bigger school I feel that it will be more difficult.

  2. I also been here since freshmen year but I disagree with the good experince. I don't want to bash Veritas but I look at it as a middle school. Every aspect of this school is nothing like a average high school.

  3. The veritas experience is so much more different than the average high school tradition of having 1,500 students rather than 252 and around 72 seniors. However when the environment is more focused on the academics and the social atmosphere, it is actually much more fun.

  4. It is a much different experience going to a smaller school than a bigger one, but in a way you are limiting yourself. The lack of sports, groups, programs, staff, and rooms sometimes means you are left short handed from a true high school experience. Even the chances of finding more people like you are slimmed down in a smaller school and anti individuality is forced to take affect, meaning you will ditch what makes you, you in order to get along with other people. I've seen people change by acting like other people and leaving their past persona behind, becoming a paste of a cookie cutter of their new friend. Either way this reduces the chances of leaders and cultural and diverse communities in small schools like Veritas

  5. I agree with you since it is totally different to what I thought it would be. I wanted to go to a bigger high school but I went to Veritas and as you know it's really small. Even though it is small I do still like the atmosphere of it since you mostly know everyone around you and you get to interact with your teachers.

  6. YES! This is not the typical high school experience. I love my school but I would have wanted to be in a big high school. Our homecoming games would involve real football, there would be more clubs like drama, music and many more. We have clubs at our school but we are so limited because we dont have the funds or people are not interesting. We are a school with no spirit. For example, for spirit weeeeeeeeek people hardly dress up. They care too much about what the neighbour is going to say. I wanted to have a "High School musical" or "The Perks of Being Wallflower" or "Mean Girls" type of experience.

  7. I agree. Veritas is not your typical high school with different groups and posies. It is way smaller and, in my opinion, much better. You get to become closer with friends and peers and become one on one with teachers. It's better than a bigger high school, when it comes to this.
